The School of Law of Universidad de Montevideo approached Dr. Gonzalo Lorenzo, as expert of Shipping Law and Professor of International Private Law, the organization of the first postgraduate course of Shipping Law held in Uruguay. The course offered will be enhanced by the contribution of distinguished guest speakers. The course will take place from 3 November to 3 December 2015.

Construction of a Liquid Fertilizer Terminal in Nueva Palmira (Colonia, Uruguay).

Urutug (Lirio Blanco S.A.) has purchased and registered under Uruguayan flag special tug boats, to provide services in the ports of Uruguay, particularly to serve Montes del Plata to enable the entrance of cargo ships in the Port of Punta Pereira to unload wood pulp. Such tug boats introduce the best technology for such task in this country.
Scelza & Montano assisted Urutug for the purchase and registration of the tug boats and in the financial contract with the banks that supported the project.
Transfluvial (Orofran S.A.) shall provide the services for the carriage of wood logs through the river, from the Logistic Terminal of M´Bopicua (Fray Bentos, Uruguay) up to the Port of Punta Pereira (Colonia, Uruguay), for the industrial project of Montes del Plata (wood pulp mill).
In 2012, Transfluvial constructed the “Punta Pereira” pusher vessel in Asenav shipyard of Chile, and is constructing the barge “Playa de Conchillas”, to advance in the infrastructure to be available in 2013.
Scelza & Montano worked with Transfluvial reviewing the contracts for the construction of pusher tugs and tug boats, and in the financial contracts with the banks that supported the project.
Julio Berkes S.A. and Berkes Hispana SL are companies that were commissioned for the manufacture, mounting and operation of an industrial boiler in France for Cristal Union Group, one of the major European groups dealing with sugar and ethanol production. The capacity of the boiler is 40 ton/h, 43 bar, 430 °C, and burns wheat bran, straws and wood chips. In 2012 it was sucessfully put into operation.
Scelza & Montano assisted Berkes for the drafting of the international contract, mounting and start up, as well as for the financial contract and for all the work execution.
