Fernando Luis Scelza Martínez

Partner and co-founder of the firm, with more than 35 years of professional activity. He has vast experience in Corporate Law, Administrative Law and Project Financing, which are his main practice areas.  From 1989, he is legal counsel of the Economy and Finance Ministry. Moreover, from 2013 he is member of the Board of Fonplata, on behalf Uruguay.

He was Sub-General Dierctor of the Economy and Finance Ministry (1996-2000). He represented the uruguayan government in several international economic-financial forums.

He negotiated on behalf the uruguayan government different international agreements for the reciprocal protection and promotion of investments. He also participated in the negotiation of the soberain debt (2003).

He worked for the World Bank in Washington D.C. (1984-1988), the Banco Hipotecario del Uruguay (1982-1984) and was member of the Board and legal counsel of the Nuevo Banco Comercial (2003-2006).
